Get ready for 2018

Get involved

We’d like as many people as possible to support and celebrate the year’s ideas and activities.

Children in Scotland, Scottish Youth Parliament and Young Scot are providing support to organisations to co-design their activity with young people. A suite of resources and further information is available to download.

So whether you’re a young person, organisation or partner who would like to get involved, you’ll find all the info you need right here. Keep an eye out over the coming months as this section is updated.

Become an ambassador

We are looking for young people to become ambassadors to represent the Year of Young People 2018 in Scotland. This is your chance to be part of a Scotland-wide team creating new opportunities for young people to shine locally, nationally and globally.

The Year of Young People 2018 will be a platform for young people to have their views heard and acted on. As an ambassador, you will be given training and help to:

  • Support events within your local authority, voluntary sector and youth work teams
  • Promote the Year of Young People 2018 themes and activities in your area
  • Get people involved in the activities – nationally and locally
  • Record your activities using blogs, vlogs and social media
  • Work towards a Youth Achievement Award or Dynamic Youth Award

Find out more and apply on the Young Scot website and join in the conversation on social media #YOYP2018.
